The Beautiful Invader

The African Tulip Tree, Spathodea campanulata, is native to tropical parts of Africa, however here in Australia it has become a serious environmental weed.

It was once planted ornamentally for its dramatic flowers and fast growth. And you can see why. It has presence. It demands attention. When it blooms, it does not whisper. It declares itself.

Although in the wrong landscape, charisma can become conquest.

In coastal Queensland and other warm regions, African Tulip Tree spreads easily. It can invade gullies, creek lines, disturbed rainforest edges, roadsides, gardens, and riparian zones. Once established, it grows quickly, forms dense stands, shades out native vegetation, and pushes itself into the ecological spaces where local plants are trying to regenerate.

This is the classic pattern of the beautiful invasive.

It arrives as an ornament.

Then it becomes an empire.

The issue is not that the tree is “evil.” In its own homeland, it has its place in the web. Although here, outside of its original ecological relationships, it behaves differently. The checks and balances are missing. The local insects, fungi, birds, and plants did not evolve with it in the same way.

So it takes more than it gives.

And in this case, the cost is not only botanical.

It is also buzzing.

The Little Ones in the Flowers

One of the most disturbing things about the African Tulip Tree is its relationship with native stingless bees.

These tiny bees are often called sugarbag bees. In this part of the world, they are more than cute little insects. They are efficient pollinators, forest workers, garden allies, and quiet custodians of genetic exchange.

They move between flowers carrying pollen like sacred dust.

They help plants communicate.

They help fruit form.

They help diversity continue.

And yet, African Tulip Tree flowers are known to kill them.

People often find native stingless bees dead inside the orange cup-like blooms. The flower becomes a kind of false temple: bright, attractive, full of promise, although fatal to the little pollinators who enter.

That image stays with me.

A bee entering a flower should be one of the most ancient relationships on Earth.

Flower opens.
Bee enters.
Pollen moves.
Fruit follows.
Life continues.

Although here the pattern is broken.

The bee enters the flower and does not return.

That is not a small thing.

In a living system, small beings perform enormous work. The health of the garden often depends on what is nearly invisible. The tiny wings. The little legs gathering pollen. The soft hum beneath the obvious story.

When the bees fall silent, the garden loses more than a pollinator.

It loses a thread in the great weaving.

Why This Matters in a Food Forest

In a food forest, we are not just growing plants.

We are cultivating relationships.

A food forest is not a collection of isolated species. It is a living conversation between roots, fungi, insects, birds, soil, sunlight, water, decay, and renewal.

The gardener’s role is not to control every sentence in that conversation.

The gardener’s role is to listen, respond, and guide the system toward greater life.

That means planting food.
That means feeding soil.
That means protecting water.
That means increasing diversity.
That means watching which species support the web, and which species begin to unravel it.

The African Tulip Tree may look magnificent, however if it is killing native stingless bees, spreading into waterways, and crowding out native regeneration, then it is not serving the living system here.

It is taking the shape of beauty while causing harm.

And this is where the gardener must become honest.

Sentimentality is not the same as compassion.

Sometimes we avoid removing a plant because it is big, beautiful, flowering, familiar, or emotionally charged. We say, “But it’s alive.” And yes, it is alive.

Although so too are the bees.

So are the native seedlings trying to rise beneath it.

So are the creek banks.

So are the future forests.

So are the fruiting systems that depend on pollination.

Compassion must widen its gaze.

The Bees and the Banana Experiment

This has become especially important to me because I am working with a seed banana cross-pollination project.

The dream is simple, ancient, and slightly mischievous.

Bring seeded banana genetics into relationship with cultivated varieties. Let the flowers open. Let the insects move. Let the bees, beetles, wind, and living intelligence of the place participate in the experiment.

Somewhere in that dance, new genetics may emerge.

Maybe nothing obvious happens.

Maybe something surprising happens.

Maybe a seed forms in a fruit where it was not expected.

Maybe a future banana carries a little more resilience, a little more wildness, a little more memory of the forest.

This is not laboratory breeding.

This is garden alchemy.

The seeded banana is the wild teacher.
The cultivated banana is the refined vessel.
The pollinator is the messenger between worlds.

And among those messengers, the native stingless bees matter.

They are tiny golden couriers moving through the garden with more purpose than most humans notice. They do not need applause. They do not need a philosophy. They simply do their work.

They enter the flower.

They carry the pollen.

They serve the continuation of life.

So when a tree on the land is killing those messengers, it is not a neutral presence.

It is interfering with the ceremony.

And when you are trying to create new food genetics, protect pollinators, and build a resilient food forest, the protection of those tiny beings becomes part of the work.

The axe is not separate from the banana project.

The axe is part of the banana project.

The removal of the harmful tree creates more safety for the pollinators that may help carry the next genetic possibility into being.

The Gardener’s Battlefield

This is where my mind went to the Bhagavad Gita.

Arjuna stands on the battlefield, overwhelmed.

He does not want to fight.

He sees teachers, relatives, friends, and respected elders on the opposing side. His heart breaks at the thought of raising his bow. He questions the whole thing. He would rather withdraw than participate in violence.

And Krishna does not give him a shallow answer.

Krishna does not say, “Just be peaceful and avoid the conflict.”

Nor does he say, “Fight because you are angry.”

Krishna teaches him about dharma.

Duty.

Right action.

The action that must be taken, not from ego, hatred, or personal desire, but from alignment with the deeper order.

Arjuna must act.

Not because battle is glorious.

Because refusing his duty would also have consequences.

This is a powerful teaching for the garden.

Because the gardener also faces moments of hesitation.

Do I cut the tree?
Do I remove the invasive?
Do I disturb what is already growing?
Do I intervene?
Do I let nature sort it out?

Sometimes the answer is to wait.

Sometimes the answer is to observe.

Sometimes the answer is to soften the hand.

Although sometimes the answer is to pick up the axe.

Not as a weapon of anger.

As an instrument of dharma.

The African Tulip Tree is not my enemy.

However my duty is to the whole system.

My duty is to the bees.
To the native plants.
To the waterway.
To the food forest.
To the future fruit.
To the unseen relationships that make life possible.

In that moment, the axe becomes the bow of Arjuna.

The garden becomes the ancient battlefield.

And the teaching is this:

Do what must be done, without hatred in the heart.

Not All Destruction Is Violence

This is an important distinction.

Destruction can be violent, careless, extractive, and arrogant.

Although removal can also be restorative.

A surgeon cuts to heal.
A pruner cuts to strengthen.
A fire clears old fuel so new growth can emerge.
A gardener removes an invasive so the living web can breathe again.

The consciousness behind the action matters.

If I cut because I am angry, I feed anger.

If I cut because I want control, I feed domination.

However if I cut because the bees are dying, because the forest is being crowded out, because the garden is asking for protection, then the cut belongs to stewardship.

The axe can be crude in the wrong hands.

Although in the hands of a listening gardener, it can become a tool of ecological responsibility.

That does not mean we swing blindly.

It means we learn.

We identify correctly.
We understand the species.
We consider safety.
We observe where it is growing.
We prevent spread.
We replace what we remove with better relationships.

The goal is not an empty space.

The goal is succession.

When the African Tulip Tree comes down, something else should rise.

Native flowering trees.
Bee-friendly shrubs.
Food plants.
Medicinal plants.
Diverse habitat.
A better offering.

The wound becomes a doorway.

Beauty Is Not Enough

The African Tulip Tree teaches a difficult lesson.

Beauty is not enough.

A plant can be stunning and still harmful in the wrong place.

A flower can shine like fire and still be a trap.

A tree can appear generous while quietly impoverishing the web around it.

This is true beyond the garden too.

Some ideas are like that.

Some habits are like that.

Some systems are like that.

They look impressive. They flower brightly. They attract attention. However when you look underneath, the bees are dead in the cup.

The alchemical question is not, “Is it beautiful?”

The deeper question is, “What does it do to the living field?”

Does it increase life?

Does it support diversity?

Does it feed the small and unseen?

Does it belong in relationship with this place?

Or does it dominate, extract, and silence?

The garden teaches discernment.

Not all gold-coloured things are gold.

Not all flowers are offerings.

Not all growth is good growth.

After the Axe

After the tree comes down, the work continues.

The stump may need managing. African Tulip Tree can sucker and regrow, especially when disturbed. Seedlings may appear. Follow-up matters.

This is another part of ecological duty.

It is not enough to perform one dramatic act and call the job done.

The garden respects consistency.

Cut.
Watch.
Return.
Mulch.
Replace.
Regenerate.

This is how we turn removal into restoration.

And this is where the Golden Monkey Gardening path becomes very practical.

Spiritual ecology is not just poetry about nature.

It is noticing which trees are killing bees.

It is learning the difference between a native flame tree and an invasive African Tulip Tree.

It is protecting the pollinators.

It is planting the next layer.

It is putting your philosophy through the hands, the sweat, the blade, the soil.

Anyone can love nature in theory.

The garden asks what your love is willing to do.

The Monkey, the Bee, and the Axe

So this was not just a tree removal.

It was a teaching.

The African Tulip Tree stood there in its strange beauty, holding its orange cups to the sky.

The bees entered.

Some did not return.

The bananas flowered nearby, waiting for messengers.

The food forest asked for a decision.

And somewhere in the background, Krishna whispered to Arjuna:

Act.

Not from hatred.
Not from ego.
Not from fear.
Not from laziness disguised as peace.

Act from duty.

Act for the whole.

Act in service of life.

So the axe came out.

And the monkey bowed.

Not to destruction.

To dharma.

What Is a Crucible?

What comes to mind when you hear the word “crucible?”

In the most literal sense, a crucible is a vessel built to withstand extreme heat. It holds the raw material while fire does its work. In metallurgy, ore or metal enters the crucible, is heated, melted, purified, and changed.

In alchemy, that image becomes a living metaphor.

The crucible is the container of transformation. The raw material enters. The fire rises. Something dense, mixed, and unrefined is worked by heat until its hidden essence begins to appear.

In Golden Monkey language, life itself is the crucible.

A job can be a crucible.
A relationship can be a crucible.
A grief, a creative project, a season of uncertainty, a spiritual practice, a body, a festival — all of these can become crucibles.

A crucible is anything life places us inside that carries enough heat and pressure to change us.

And once we see it that way, the question shifts.

The question is no longer, “Why is this happening to me?”

The question becomes:

What is this fire refining?

At the workshop, we named three crucibles happening at once:

The personal crucible.
The festival crucible.
The global crucible.

One body.
One gathering.
One planet.
Three crucibles.
One fire.

The Personal Crucible

So in the workshop, I ask everyone to sit with a simple question:

What is the heaviest raw material you carried here with you today?

Because this is where alchemy begins.

Not with the polished version of ourselves.

Not with the festival persona.

Not with the part of us that knows how to smile, dance, perform, explain, connect, and keep moving.

Alchemy begins with the raw material.

The heaviest thing we actually arrive with.

The weight in the body.

The old story.

The grief.

The fear.

The uncertainty.

The longing.

The tension between wanting to be seen and wanting to hide.

That is the personal crucible.

The private fire.

The inner vessel.

The place where life is already applying pressure.

Some of us arrive carrying tenderness. Some arrive carrying exhaustion. Some arrive carrying questions, heartbreak, excitement, confusion, hope, or something without a name yet.

Whatever we arrive with becomes the material.

That is the prima materia.

The first matter.

The raw beginning of the Work.

The Festival Crucible

Then there is the festival crucible.

This is the shared vessel we enter together.

A festival is a living alchemical container.

We enter as one version of ourselves and return carrying whatever gold has been refined.

We come with the lead.

The festival gives us the fire.

And when we meet that fire consciously, we walk home with the gold.

The music is part of the fire.

The dancing is part of the fire.

The conversations are part of the fire.

The workshops, the ceremonies, the late nights, the fatigue, the synchronicities, the mirrors, the beauty, the awkward moments, the open-hearted moments, the strange little encounters that somehow arrive at exactly the right time — all of it becomes part of the vessel.

A festival takes ordinary life and turns the volume up.

The usual routines fall away.

The normal masks loosen.

The body gets tired enough for the truth to come closer to the surface.

The heart opens enough for something to move.

The field becomes strange enough for the monkey mind to lose its usual grip.

This is why festivals can feel so magical.

And this is why they can feel so intense.

Because we are not only dancing.

We are being worked.

The crucible is warm.

The lead is moving.

Something in us is being refined.

The festival becomes the furnace.

The people become mirrors.

The music becomes heat.

The shared field becomes the vessel.

And somewhere between the laughter, the dirt, the song, the exhaustion, the sunrise, the ceremony, the conversation, and the quiet walk back to camp, some little piece of gold begins to show itself.

The Global Crucible

Around both the personal crucible and the festival crucible, there is the global crucible.

The wider Earth field.

The collective atmosphere.

The planetary nervous system.

The pressure of this time we are living through.

In the workshop, I name this partly through the Schumann Resonance — the natural electromagnetic resonance of the Earth-ionosphere cavity. And there is a whole series of articles and podcasts dedicated to this called Earth Frequency Transmissions.

Earth Frequency Transmissions

Solar wind and space weather can apply pressure to the Earth’s field.

And for me, this becomes part science, part symbol, part field-awareness practice.

It reminds us that we are living inside a planetary crucible.

We are not separate from the field.

We are not separate from the weather of the Earth.

We are not separate from the larger atmosphere of the world.

The personal crucible sits inside the festival crucible.

The festival crucible sits inside the global crucible.

And the crucible of the earths geomagnetic field is constantly applying frequencies and pressure to our nervous systems, to stir up and refine our heavy emotions.

Alchemical Language

Once we name the crucible, we need a language for what happens inside it. Alchemy gives us that language. It gives us a way to speak about transformation without flattening it into a self-help slogan, because transformation is rarely clean. It breaks things down before it reveals what was hidden. It exposes the raw material, applies heat, separates what is real from what has been accumulated, and slowly brings the hidden gold to the surface.

The old alchemists had names for these stages: prima materia, lead, nigredo, albedo, citrinitas, and rubedo. These words sound ancient because they are, and yet they describe something very alive. They describe the inner process we move through whenever life places us inside a crucible.

Prima Materia: The Raw Material

Prima materia means the first matter. It is the raw, unrefined material that enters the crucible. In the workshop, this is whatever we arrive with: fear, grief, restlessness, excitement, confusion, hope, the old story, the nervous system, the monkey mind, the thing we carry into the festival whether we name it out loud or carry it quietly in the body.

This is where the Work begins. Not with the polished version of ourselves. Not with the festival persona. Not with the spiritual performance. The Work begins with the material that is actually here. The thing we came to escape may become the very material we came to refine.

That is prima materia.

Lead: The Monkey Mind

In Golden Monkey language, the lead is the monkey mind. Heavy, reactive, repetitive, control-seeking, swinging from branch to branch, planning, defending, comparing, grasping, panicking, performing, replaying conversations that already happened and rehearsing futures that may never arrive.

Classic monkey behaviour. 🍌🐒

And this is the important part: the monkey mind is raw material, not the enemy. The lead is not a mistake. It is the substance the alchemical process begins with. Without lead, there is nothing to refine. Without the monkey, there is no Golden Monkey.

Nigredo: The Blackening

Nigredo is pronounced nih-GRAY-doh. It means blackening. This is the breakdown stage, where the old form begins to dissolve, the mask slips, the performance cracks, and something real appears underneath.

Nigredo can feel like confusion, heaviness, shadow, discomfort, or the composting of an identity that no longer holds. Compost is the perfect image here. From the outside, compost looks like decay: a pile of scraps, something fallen apart, something finished. And yet inside that breakdown, life is reorganising itself. Heat is building. Microbes are moving. The old form is becoming food for the next one.

Nigredo is transformation beginning in the dark.

Albedo: The Whitening

Albedo is pronounced al-BEE-doh. It means whitening. This is the clearing stage, where awareness begins separating from the noise.

The monkey is still there. The thoughts still arise. The fear still speaks. The old pattern still reaches for the nearest branch. And something in us begins to watch. This is the shift. We stop being the monkey and begin witnessing the monkey. A little space opens. A little breath returns. The nervous system softens enough for another possibility to appear.

Breath can support this stage. Body awareness can support it. So can stillness, prayer, mantra, journaling, walking, or sitting under a tree until the body remembers that it belongs to the Earth.

Albedo is the space that opens when awareness begins to return.

Citrinitas: The Yellowing

Citrinitas is pronounced sit-rih-NEE-tahs. It means yellowing. This is the first dawn, the first gold, the moment where the fire begins to reveal what it has been teaching.

A realisation lands. A pattern becomes visible. A conversation makes sense days later. A tarot card starts speaking. A strange moment from the festival becomes a symbol. Something that felt random begins to feel like part of a larger map.

This is where the alchemist begins to see. The gold was already there. The fire makes it visible.

Citrinitas is the first glow of understanding after the darkness has done its work.

Rubedo: The Reddening

Rubedo is pronounced roo-BAY-doh. It means reddening. This is embodiment. This is where the gold enters the blood.

Insight becomes speech, breath, action, relationship, and daily life. Rubedo is where the Work leaves the workshop and enters the way we live. It is one thing to understand something in a festival field. It is another thing to carry that understanding home into the next conversation, the next choice, the next morning, the next trigger, the next fire.

Gold that stays as an idea is unfinished. The point is to embody it. To let the realisation become a rhythm. To let the gold move through the hands, the voice, the choices, and the body.

That is rubedo.

The Map of the Fire

So this is the alchemical map. The raw material arrives. The lead is named. The fire begins. The old form blackens. Awareness clears. The first gold appears. And then the gold becomes lived.

Prima materia. Lead. Nigredo. Albedo. Citrinitas. Rubedo.

The monkey walks into the crucible carrying lead.

The alchemist walks out carrying gold.

The Modern Joke

CERN Turns Lead Into Gold

Before we enter the ancient mythology, the workshop takes a quick detour through the modern temple of science.

CERN’s Large Hadron Collider — that 27-kilometre underground ring of extremely expensive wizardry — turns lead into gold.

Actual lead—into—Actual gold.

For a very, very tiny moment.

Physicists accelerate lead nuclei close to the speed of light. In certain near-miss collisions, the electromagnetic fields become so intense that protons are stripped away from the lead nuclei.

Lead has 82 protons.

Gold has 79.

Take three protons away from lead, and the element crosses the threshold.

Lead becomes gold.

The Most Expensive Nanosecond In History

The monkey, naturally, hears this and immediately starts throwing bananas at the ceiling.

Alchemy confirmed.
Mystics vindicated.
Everyone go home. 🍌🐒

Except…

The gold exists for a fraction of a second.

The total amount is almost impossibly tiny.

And then it smashes into the accelerator structure and disappears.

So yes, modern science turns lead into gold.

And in true modern fashion, it takes billions of dollars, a 27-kilometre underground machine, the combined intelligence of some of the best physicists on Earth, and produces gold that nobody can hold.

Spectacular.

Brilliant.

Deeply funny.

The Golden Monkey bows to the science.

And then quietly points out that the ancient alchemists are somewhere beyond the veil, smiling.

Because the headlines say, “Alchemy’s dream finally achieved.”

And the old mystics are saying:

Wrong kind of gold, beloved.

The real joke is that the gold was already hidden in the lead.

Scientifically, it is right there in the structure. Lead and gold are separated by three protons. Strip away what makes lead lead, and the gold appears.

And symbolically, this is the whole teaching.

The monkey mind is the lead.

Dense. Reactive. Heavy. Spinning. Replaying. Grasping. Planning. Defending. Swinging from thought to thought, convinced that movement means progress.

And yet the gold is already in there.

Underneath the noise.

Underneath the panic.

Underneath the story.

Underneath the endless inner commentary.

The gold is awareness.

The gold is stillness.

The gold is the part of us that can watch the monkey without becoming the monkey.

So CERN gives us the modern joke:

lead becomes gold and vanishes.

Alchemy gives us the deeper map:

the monkey mind enters the fire, the unnecessary density is stripped away, and the gold that was hidden underneath begins to appear.

That is the part no particle accelerator can do for us.

No machine can strip the density from the monkey mind.

Life does that.

The crucible does that.

The fire does that.

And this is where the modern doorway opens into the ancient one.

Because if science shows us that lead can become gold for a nanosecond, mythology asks a deeper question:

Who remembers the fire?

Who carries the laws of transformation when Civilizations rise and fall?

Who keeps the map when temples sink and the old names are buried?

That is where we meet the Priest-King of the Ancient Fire.

Practical Alchemy

What Do We Do In The Fire?

Once we had walked through the crucible, the mythology, and the modern mirror, the question became practical.

Because mythology is beautiful.

Symbolism is powerful.

But eventually, we have to bring the gold back into the body.

So I offered a simple map:

Name the crucible.

Name the monkey.

Find the fire.

Find the gold.

Choose one rubedo action.

In other words:

What crucible am I currently inside?

What is the monkey mind saying here?

What heat is this situation bringing?

What quality is this fire refining?

What small action carries this gold into life?

This is where alchemy stops being an idea and becomes a practice.

It might be a conversation you need to have.

A boundary you need to set.

A grief you need to let yourself feel.

A truth you need to speak.

A creative act you need to finish.

A softer way of meeting yourself.

A more honest way of walking back into ordinary life.

Because gold that stays as an idea is unfinished.

The rubedo — the reddening — is when the gold enters the blood.

When insight becomes speech.

Breath.

Action.

Relationship.

Daily life.

The festival ends.

The tents come down.

The music stops.

The cars drive away.

But the Work continues in the way we carry the gold home.

Tarot As The Mirror

The final piece of the workshop was Tarot.

Not as fortune telling.

Not as prediction.

Not as something fixed or fatal.

But as a mirror.

Alchemy gives us the process.

Tarot gives us the archetypal map.

The Golden Monkey Tarot

The Major Arcana is the Fool’s Journey through archetypes of the human psyche. Each card becomes a station in the Great Work. The card does not tell you who you are forever. It shows you something alive in the crucible you are currently standing inside.

At the festival, I handed out twenty-two Major Arcana cards.

One card for each person.

One archetypal mirror.

One little doorway into the Work.

Hold the crucible you entered.

Hold the raw material you carried.

Then ask:

What did I notice first in this card?

What part of my festival crucible does this card speak to?

How can I embody the lesson this card is showing me now that the festival is over?

And still, something remembers.

Not only in books. Not only in temples. Not only in tablets hidden beneath the earth. In blood. In seed. In dream. In symbol. In the body. In the strange ache that rises when an ancient name is spoken and some part of us whispers, I know this.

This is not a lesson in history of the lost ages. This is a mythological story. A remembering. The place where myth speaks in images because plain fact is too small of a cup to hold it all.

At the centre of this remembering stands a figure who appears again and again throughout the ages: the Priest-King, the Divine Scribe, the Wisdom Carrier, the one who remembers the laws when the world forgets them.

In Egypt, he is known as Thoth the Atlantean — the one who carries the sacred knowledge and wisdom through the fall of a great civilization. Later in Greece, he is believed to be Hermes.
In an even more ancient time he was known as Nabu, Son of Marduk, Grandson of Enki — the wellspring of wisdom, lord of the fresh waters, compassionate keeper of the deep.

Beside Thoth stands Ma’at: truth, harmony, balance, right relationship, cosmic order, the feather on the scale. Thoth carries the knowledge. Ma’at keeps the knowledge aligned with life.

The stylus and the feather.
Science and balance.
The star-map and the living law.

And when Thoth becomes Hermes, that same balance takes another symbol: the staff of Hermes also known as the caduceus, the central rod with two serpents rising in mirrored motion. Atlantis and Lemuria

In this remembering, Atlantis and Lemuria are not merely lost places. They are the two great poles of ancient memory.

Atlantis is the tower. Lemuria is the garden.

Atlantis is sacred science, star-maps, temple technology, crystal memory, geometry, alchemy, astrology, sound, energy, number, and the great upward reach of mind.

Lemuria is communion, body wisdom, water memory, Earth kinship, song, feeling, seed, blood, ancestor, animal, plant, and deep listening to the living field of creation itself.

Atlantis reaches upward. Lemuria listens inward.

Atlantis asks, What can consciousness build?
Lemuria asks, What does life remember?

Atlantis gives the science. Lemuria gives the heart. The tragedy of the lost ages is separation. Science without heart becomes domination. Communion without structure dissolves before the hard ages.

The Great Work is the marriage: Atlantis and Lemuria reconciled, Sky and Earth remembered as one body, Thoth and Ma’at standing together again.

The lost ages did not vanish because knowledge failed. They vanished because balance broke.

That is the warning.

And the invitation.

The Halls of Amenti

In the esoteric remembering, Thoth does not merely survive the fall. He descends into the hidden chambers, into the deep places beneath the noise of history, into the Halls of Amenti.

The Halls of Amenti are the mythic underground, the hidden library beneath the visible world, the chamber where sacred science is sealed, guarded, preserved, and kept away from ages that would use power without becoming wise.

Thoth carries the fire of the lost world into the depths. He does not abandon the wisdom. He hides it. He seals it in symbol. He writes it in emerald. He places it beneath the surface story, beneath the kingdoms, beneath the arguments, beneath the busy little mind that thinks reality is only what can be measured with a ruler and sold in a marketplace.

The Halls of Amenti are not only a place. They are an image: the underground chamber of the soul, the place where wisdom goes when the world is too noisy to receive it.

When outer temples fall, the inner temple keeps the flame. When books burn, the blood remembers. When language dies, the seed remembers. When the gods are renamed, the dream remembers.

The knowledge was not gone.

It went inward.

The Emerald Tablets

And there, in the mythic chamber, are the Emerald Tablets. Green fire. Stone memory. Living lore.

The tablets are said to carry the teachings of Thoth: the laws beneath form, the mystery of correspondence, the path of ascent, the secret of death and return, the knowing that spirit and matter are not enemies.

The tablets whisper the old formula:

As above, so below. As within, so without. As the cosmos, so the body. As the body, so the soul. As the soul, so the world.

This is the Hermetic seed. The sky is not separate from the vessel. The vessel is not separate from the body. The body is not separate from the Earth. The Earth is not separate from the stars.

Everything corresponds. Everything speaks. Everything remembers.

The Emerald Tablets are not merely tablets in this telling. They are the green memory of the laws. They say the knowledge was never destroyed. It was carried in symbol, temple, lineage, blood, seed, dream, and the bodies of those who would one day remember.

The monkey, of course, lost the key to the chamber.

The body kept the map.

The Pendulum

Civilizations rise and fall because rhythm is law.

Expansion and contraction. Birth and death. Creation and dissolution. Golden ages and dark ages. The pendulum swings.

Atlantis rises. Atlantis falls. Lemuria sings in the bones. Egypt receives the flame. Alexandria mixes the streams. The Islamic world preserves and refines. Europe hides the mystery in dragons, kings, queens, vessels, and coded books. The Renaissance remembers Hermes. While the modern world accelerates into machines, electricity, algorithms, rockets, artificial intelligence, and another round of glowing buttons for the monkey to press.

The pendulum is still moving.

The question remains the same: will sacred science serve Ma’at? Will knowledge serve life? Will power bow to truth? Will technology remember the soul?

A Civilization falls when intelligence separates from balance. A Civilization heals when knowledge returns to right relationship.

This is cause and effect. Karma as history. What is sown shall be reaped. What is hidden ripens. What is out of balance seeks correction.

The seeds of the future are being planted now.

And every seed remembers the hand that placed it in the soil.

Blood and Seed

The memory of the lost ages is not only carried through scrolls, tablets, temples, or myths. It is carried through blood and seed. Through the living body. Through the ancestral line. Through the songs that survive conquest. Through the hands that still know how to plant. Through the elders who still speak to land. Through the symbols that return in art, ceremony, prayer, story, and pattern.

It is carried through living cultures who preserve relationship with land, ancestor, law, song, season, spirit, and kinship.

And still, one can notice with reverence that many Indigenous traditions preserve forms of relationship to land, spirit, kinship, and living law that resemble what esoteric language calls Lemurian memory. The mythic language points toward the same ache: humanity once knew how to belong.

The body remembers. The blood remembers. The seed remembers. The land remembers.

And when the old knowledge begins to stir, it rarely arrives first as a fact. It arrives as recognition. As goosebumps. As tears. As a sudden sense that something ancient is stirring beneath the surface.

The monkey pauses mid-banana…

Even the trickster knows when the temple bell has rung.

Alchemy and Astrology

Alchemy and astrology are two hands of the same ancient body.

Astrology reads transformation through time. Alchemy reads transformation through matter. Astrology watches the heavens and asks, What pattern is unfolding? Alchemy watches the vessel and asks, What essence is being revealed?

One looks upward. One looks inward. Both read the same law.

The old correspondences remember it: Saturn and lead. Moon and silver. Mercury and quicksilver. Venus and copper. Mars and iron. Jupiter and tin. Sun and gold.

The planets are not merely rocks in the sky in this symbolic language. They are principles, forces, teachers. Metals are not merely metals. They are planetary signatures made dense.

Lead is heaviness. Gold is radiance. Mercury is movement. Iron is force. Copper is attraction. Silver is reflection.

Hermes stands between them as messenger. His staff remembers the pattern. The two serpents are not enemies. They are the twin currents of the Work: above and below, solar and lunar, active and receptive, Atlantis and Lemuria, matter and spirit, rising together through the central channel.

The true alchemist does not only ask, Can lead become gold?

The true alchemist asks: can heaviness become wisdom? Can fear become courage? Can confusion become clarity? Can reaction become devotion? Can the monkey mind become gold?

Now the furnace is lit.

The Square, the Triangle, and the Circle

The old mystery can be held through three simple shapes: the Square, the Triangle, and the Circle.

The Square is the physical world: body, matter, survival, land, Civilization, structure, work, family, food, money, law, the arena where karma becomes visible. In the human body, it maps to the lower centres: root, sacral, solar plexus. Survival, desire, power, embodiment, worldly navigation.

The Square is necessary. Without it, nothing can manifest as form. No temple. No garden. No vessel. No body for the gold. And when consciousness is trapped in the Square alone, it is thrown around by the pendulum of history: rise, fall, gain, lose, build, burn, again and again.

The Triangle is the ethereal ascent: mind, pattern, vibration, meaning, symbol, vision, prayer, subtle law, the highway to heaven. This is where the higher principles become visible. Here one begins to work with rhythm, polarity, cause and effect, correspondence, and gender rather than being unconsciously worked by them.

This is the beginning of liberation from the pendulum. Not escape from the world. Mastery of relationship with the world.

One still lives in the Square. One still eats, plants, pays bills, carries water, washes bowls, answers messages, and tends the ordinary fire. Yet consciousness rises through the Triangle. It reads the pattern before reaction. It balances polarity before it hardens into war. It sees cause before effect arrives wearing boots.

The Circle is the Eternal. The source. The zero point. The divine love beyond duality and form. The still centre from which creation arises and into which all things return.

The Circle has no beginning and no end. It is unity. Wholeness. The eternal field. The mystery before shape.

The Square is incarnation. The Triangle is transmutation. The Circle is realization. The Square builds the world. The Triangle refines the soul. The Circle remembers what has always been true.

To live in the Square, rise through the Triangle, and rest in the Circle — that is the Great Work.

That is gold.

The Fire Beneath the Blood

We are living in another swing of the pendulum.

Systems strain. Meaning fragments. Technology accelerates. Power centralizes. Attention scatters. The monkey gets handed a glowing rectangle and immediately begins worshipping the notification bell.

Classic.

And beneath all of it, the old remembrance stirs.

Atlantis rises again through technology, networks, artificial intelligence, energy systems, architecture, and the wild return of sacred science wearing modern clothing. Lemuria rises again through ecological grief, land-based remembering, nervous system wisdom, body intelligence, ceremony, kinship, soil, seed, water, and the longing to belong to life again.

Thoth returns through pattern recognition. Ma’at returns through the demand for balance. Hermes returns as the messenger. The staff returns through the body. The Emerald Tablets return through lore. The Halls of Amenti return through the hidden chamber of the heart.

The question is no longer whether the old worlds existed exactly as the stories say.

The deeper question is:

What are they asking us to remember?

Power with heart. Knowledge with humility. Technology with reverence. Mind with body. Fire with water. Gold with soil. Sky with Earth.

That is the sacred marriage.

That is the Great Work.

The Seed Remembers

Alchemy survives because it names something every human being already knows: the breakdown, the pressure, the strange heat, the loss of old form, the dark night, the first pale light, the return of colour, the red-gold life that appears after the burning.

Civilizations rise and fall. The pendulum swings. Rhythm does its work. Cause ripens into effect. Karma unfolds. And still, the seed remembers.

The blood remembers. The body remembers. The old fire waits beneath the ruins.

Atlantis gave the science. Lemuria gave the heart. Thoth carried the knowledge. Ma’at carried the balance. Hermes carried the message. The Halls of Amenti kept the flame. The Emerald Tablets preserved the law.

And the Great Work remains what it always was: turning the lead of unconscious existence into the gold of conscious participation in the divine unfolding.

The Square is the world. The Triangle is the way. The Circle is the source. The staff of Hermes rises through the centre. The serpents remember the balance. The wings remember the ascent.

The Priest-King is still holding the stylus. The feather is still waiting on the scale. The seed is still remembering.

And somewhere in the cosmic jungle, the monkey mind is finally beginning to suspect that the banana was a sacred lesson in archaic alchemy all along. 🍌🐒
